I knew it was 1/3. It happens way too often and I am ashamed to admit been there done that. It's like it happens so fast you don't even know what hit you (no pun intended). Got out of it
though and it will never happen again.
yeah not so easy to address as people think, you think I will never be that girl I am to strong and then it can happen out of the blue (yes it does feel like that) and you think 'Oh man I
need to get out of this.'
One of the worst parts is that your friends blame you some how and do not give support.
Happykate, when I told my brothers about my what my ex had done to me, and mind you I had the bruises to prove it, they actually said "well, what did you do?" and I died inside. I had
expected them to want to go over there with baseball bats and kick his @ss. No one deserves to be hit no matter what they do. If a man thinks it's easier to communicate with his fists than
his words then he is the one with problem.
I'm in therapy now because of this topic. It freaked me out that all my friends and family saw my bruises, but kept asking what I did! Ok, so I cheated on him and he caught me in the act, and
they all know he's not a violent person normally, but that's no reason for him to lay his hands on me. Still, I'm dying to talk to him one last time and let him know how I feel about what he
did.
Yeah, I was shocked when I learned this during my volunteer training.. =/
1Finally...its time to start talking about this! No more shoving it under the rug!
2So sad...I knew it was 1/3.
3I thought it was 1 in five.
4OMG
5Why do we take this?
Yet I do not have to say anything...
It really makes you think!!!
Yeah I thought it was 1 in 5, too. Guess it's gone up since.
